Heart of Eden Development Trust

The Articles and Memorandum of the Company formally set out a list of activities that the organisation will pursue to improve the well being of the communities comprising parishes around Appleby-in-Westmorland. These communities are Appleby, Asby, Bandleyside, Bolton, Dufton, Kirkby Thore, Long Marton, Milburn, Murton, Temple Sowerby. A map of the area is below.

The area is one of the most rural in England having a low population density distributed as villages about the market town of Appleby and individual farmsteads. Beautiful countryside comprising rolling valley land and extensive areas of moorland on the Pennines to the east
